Cuba – Havana and Trinidad

It was my husband’s idea and wish to go to Cuba, but in the end, I am glad we did. Cuba is such an interesting place to visit and there are so many photo opportunities! And not only for Street Photography. The architecture in Havana is magnificent: Colonial, Baroque, Neo-Classical, Art Nouveau, Eclectic, it has it all. Just needs a bit of restoration.

In a way, traveling to Cuba is like traveling in time, but it is also much more than that. It has a lot of personality and style. Also, Cuban people are amazing mechanics: I wonder  how can they keep these vintage cars running for over 50 years?

One of the things you can do in Havana is to have a tour of the city in one of the vintage cars used as taxis! Believe it or not, we had a very pink one! The driver looked very stylish too in his white Panama hat! But NOT as stylish as my own husband…

Music is also part of Cuban lifestyle and I think it helped them a lot through rough times. There is live music almost everywhere, and if you know anything about Cuban music –or at least Buena Vista Social Club- you can be treated with music to your demand! They are happy to oblige! We connected with them through the music we also enjoy! Here is my husband with some friendly musicians and a gorgeous sunset we admired from the bell tower in Trinidad.
